Bridgman
is located in the southwestern portion of the state, along the shoreline of Lake Michigan near the Indiana state line. The Bridgman area includes the villages of Baroda, Bridgman and Sawyer, and has a combined population of approximately 4500 residents. The town of Bridgman has the advantage of being close to several major metropolitan cities, yet is small and quaint, and is surrounded by the beauty of Lake Michigan, as well as peaceful farmlands and woodlands. As a tourist destination, Weko Beach and Warren Dunes are two of the areas’ most popular beaches for swimming, boating, fishing, sailing and relaxing. Other recreational activities in the area include hiking, biking and camping, golf, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. Also, throughout the year, the villages of Bridgman host many old-fashioned festivals and parades, such as their 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks. Bridgman’s friendly, safe neighborhoods also make a great place for relocation, and Money Magazine has rated Bridgman’s schools among the best in the country. The Bridgman area is easily accessed off Interstate 94, and is just 25 miles from South Bend. Grand Rapids is 80 miles away and Chicago, Illinois is approximately one hour from Bridgman.

Southwest Michigan enjoys four distinct seasons and there is a saying that goes, %u201Cif you don%u2019t like the weather, wait a day and it will change.%u201D This is because both the warm, humid air coming up from the Gulf of Mexico, and cold, dry air from the Arctic influence the climate. Located near the shores of Lake Michigan, the climate is also influenced by the lake effect, which helps keep temperatures mild during the summer and increases the moisture content in the air throughout the year. In the winter, this moisture condenses as snow as it reaches the land, creating heavy snowfalls in some areas, known as "snow squalls" on the downwind shores of the lakes. Showers and thunderstorms are common in the spring and summer, and fall is often the sunniest time of the year in Michigan.
